We ventured out last Sunday for a photo shoot for some pictures to use for Conley's upcoming "SOCK MONKEY" birthday party. I find it hard to believe Conley is almost one. This past year flew by. The LOVE between Conley and Adlee is amazing to watch. We are sure blessed to have two precious children who remind of daily of what "TRUE LOVE" really is.

This year we celebrated Halloween in great care as Adlee and Conley were both doctors. Adlee was a veterinarian and Conley was a medical doctor. They were "ON CALL" for your medical needs and they only wanted paid in "CANDY" for their services.

WHEW! Where in the world did September go? I find myself LOVIN' LIFE and, with that being said, I have not made time to post. SO, here is a our "SEPTEMBER REVIEW" in a nut-shell with a few pictures. I won't bore you with ALL of the pictures I took, so I just included some favs of mine! :0)

The first of September, we traveled to Red River with Dent's family to celebrate the long Labor Day weekend. With all the craziness of school of starting, getting back into a routine, and STILL fighting the hot temps...the mountains was the perfect place to go for some relaxing and fresh "COOL" air. At Red River we played at the park, wadded in the river, rode the ski lift, rented a bike to tootle around town in (WHAT A WORK-OUT for the ADULTS), ate way too much YUMMY FOOD, and did a little shopping. AND...Conley popped out his first tooth during the trip. WHO-HOO!!!

The SWEETEST...Adlee and her daddy together!

Next...September means "FALL" is quickly approaching so we decorated pumpkins for our front porch!!! This year white pumpkins were the BIG HIT. Adlee wanted a rainbow designed pumpkin and she did a fantastic job created her rainbow colored pumpkin. I decided to do a football pumpkin for Conley and he LOVED it. Well, let me rephrase that...I LOVED it! ;)

It was so fun getting to do a BOY themed pumpkin this year. Although Conley slept through the pumpkin painting process...he enjoyed playing with it the next day. :0)

Adlee had her first field trip to the Pumpkin Patch with VCA. We enjoyed playing in the corn pit, picking the perfect pumpkins, and running through the maze with all her little friends

I LOVE my sweet lil' punkin!!!

After the pumpkin patch...we made it home just in time to get "SASSY" for the homecoming pep rally. It was Adlee's first pep rally and she was excited to see her favorite cheerleader/babysitter, Macayla, pose with two sweet girls (Haylee and Abby) from my classroom, and LOVED getting to pose with her daddy before heading to the big game. GO BIG RED!!!

AND...a little update on Conley and his "TEETH"...YES, TEETH! Conley has popped out "4" teeth, two on top, two bottom. He has been a trooper through it all and he has learned to tolerate the pain. I know teething is NO FUN...Poor Baby!

Each day I "FALL" more and more in LOVE with the PUNKINS in my life. I LOVE YOU!!!

It's SCHOOL time...

We now have a "SCHOOL-GIRL" in the house. Adlee Kay is attending Pre-K at Victory Christian Academy and is loving every minute of it. Of course having your BFF in the same building makes things pretty awesome as well. I find it hard to believe Adlee is old enough to be in school, but each new stage of her life brings new JOYS to my days.

Family Vacation to Red River

My whole family ventured to Red River July 27th-31st for a few days of cooler temps and family FUN! We rode 4-wheelers during the day and played in town in the evenings. It was a WONDERFUL time filled with GREAT company.

This week has been packed full of "FUN" as Adlee took more swimming lessons, Conley got his first "BIG-BOY" hair-cut, and we all attended "BEACH-BASH" VBS at our church. We were very busy and the week flew by.

*Swimming Update: Adlee is now swimming in the deep(er) end and LOVES it. She is quite the little fish! :0)

*Conley with his new hair-cut is just too cute. It did make me a little sad when he sat in the chair all by himself, but I guess it happens as our children grow up.

*VBS...It was a BLAST and Adlee loved it. Of course, it's always fun when your BFF is singing right along with you during song time. Adlee and Tatum are the BEST of FRIENDS. :0)

We are already LOVING our SuMMer DaYs at home (or wherever we land for the day)! :0)

Adlee has enjoyed running through the sprinkler and Conley has enjoyed watching Sissy be so active. He really wants to join in the BIG fun, but for now, he is just content watching. He will be right in the middle of the sprinkler before I know it...DOUBLE the FUN for US! Winston and Leeper are loving the sprinklers as well. Of course, playing at MeMe and PaPa's big playground is always FUN. Conley had his first swing ride and LOVED it. AK has decided she is a BIG, BIG girl and has tackled the rock climbing wall, learning to swing on her own (it is quite cute seeing her pump her legs with such a determined look at her face), and more. Adlee thinks she has to keep up with the big kids, the older cousins, and she is doing quite well at succeeding.

"Kids Growing Like Weeds" is what's happening at our house. Adlee has grown up so much since Conley has arrived. She is such a big helper and loves her little brother. Conley is really growing and changing...he is now rolling over, giggling out loud, and works hard at keeping track of his sister and what she is doing.

A-D-L-E-E was the "NAME of the WEEK"...much to my surprise Adlee knew how to write all the letters in her name. Last I knew she could write her A's, L's, and O's really well and then all of sudden, SURPRISE, she wrote her full name for us. It was perfect timing as I was working on "thank-you" notes for her birthday gifts and I could just hand the cards over to her for her special signature. WAY TO GO ADLEE!

Love was in the Air as we celebrated Valentine's this year. Of course, having an additional punkin to LOVE made the holiday extra special:-) We spent Saturday afternoon decorating heart cookies with Boba. Adlee ate spoon fulls of sprinkles and dipped her fingers several times in the icing and her cookies turned out fabulous! Conley was a little spectator and he smiled and laughed as he watched his sissy do her master-pieces. That evening, Dent and I were able to get away for a date night with friends (kid free) and it was terrific. Sunday we were able to spend some time with my parents and grill out for supper...another fun day of sweet memories. Valentine's Day consisted of work, but the evening was spent at home with the ones I LOVE!

2011 is looking to be a great year, even if it's just January. I have been extremely blessed to be at home with my sweet punkins. Pure Christmas Bliss

This Christmas was extra special as we had another little angel to celebrate with, Conley Evans. Of course, Adlee LOVED all the Christmas activities and playing with cousins. AND...did I mention "SANTA" came to our house?!?! HEHE. This year Adlee really got into the whole "Santa is Comin' to my House" talk. On Christmas morning she came into our bedroom riding in her new pink scooter Santa had left her. It was the perfect way to wake up on Christmas morning. Adlee was also excited to show Conley what Santa and left for him...a Tractor (just what Big Sister had written in her Santa letter). We started our Christmas celebrations on Christmas Eve and continue through out Christmas Day. It was such a WONDERFUL time with family!!!

4 Generations at MeMa's House Christmas afternoon!

Welcome Conley Evans

We welcomed Conley Evans into the world on Sunday, December 12th at 7:15 a.m. He weighed in at 7 lbs, 7 oz & was 19 inches long. As many of you know, we were planning to go in Sunday night to be induced, but Conley had a different plan. Saturday night about 10:00 p.m. I started feeling some contractions and told Dent something was happening, but told him not to stress and go to sleep while I did some last minute things around the house. Not much time passed and we were headed out the door to the hospital! We arrived and they did some monitoring and checking and then decided I could go home because the baby was just moving down and I was in some pain. SO...back home we came about 12:00ish and after some medicine and 2 baths because I could NOT sleep, I woke Dent up once again and said, "I am NOT doing this all night...something is happening!" Now, the time is about 3:30 and we are headed back to the hospital. This time...something was FOR SURE happening as I was dilated to a "4" and Conley was coming. My only request was some "DRUGS" before the delivery happened. Well...Conley decided to come too fast and by the time DRUGS were attempted, I was dilated to a "10" and the pushing began. As my Mom left the room to get Dent (did I mention Dent doesn't do well in the hospital setting and the sight of needles is NOT for him), she mentioned no drugs and Dent said, "What? You have to be kidding me!" Dent entered the room and gave me a sweet kiss and then final stages began. I am thankful for my sweet hubby (who's hand is probably STILL numb from me squeezing it) and precious Mom who helped me fight the pain to get Conley here. After only 15 minutes of pushing...he was here and "YES" I survived! I guess I earned my "TRUE WOMAN" status this weekend! LOL!!! WHEW...makes me tired just recapping my Sunday morning, but it was worth every pain, push, and stitch! We are so THANKFUL for a healthy baby boy and thank GOD for our sweet little family!!!

Another side note: My doctor, Dr. McGaughy, was out of town until Sunday night (which that is why we chose Sunday night to be induced)...so Dr. Mann delivered my baby. We know Dr. Mann quite well as we go to church together, I work with his wife at school, and Dent has grown up with his kids. Once Conley arrived, Dr. Mann asked if I would be in Sunday school in a few hours. He gave us a good laugh. I am proud to say Dr. Mann DID make it to church (I'm sure a little tired) and introduced our great news to our church family. Delivering in a small town is great...we knew the nurses, doctors, and staff quite well and they treated us wonderfully. One of my nurses even brought me a plate of Christmas goodies to spoil us. It was delicious! The night-time nurse, Jyme, spoiled Conley each night, since he was the only one in the nursery. She would always ask for a change of clothes so he could be dressed in his best to come see me in the mornings after his bath. This morning...he arrived with his hair spiked! :0) It was just precious!!!

Welcome Conley Evans!!! Big Sister Adlee was there to witness his first cry from outside the hospital door. Dent brought her in just minutes later and she wasn't too sure about everything, but after Conley was all cleaned and in the nursery...the LOVE began!

Christmas Bliss...

I always LOVE this time of year...gingerbread house making, trimming the tree, wrapping gifts, and all the activities that go along with the season. Each year the FUN grows as Adlee gets more into the Christmas spirit and wants to sing songs, help with the shopping, trim the trees, and writes her Santa a letter. This year has brought another FUN event for our family as Conley's arrival is VERY near!!! We are just patiently waiting for the special day...:0)

This Halloween was SPOOK-TACULAR

We had a SPOOK-TACULAR Halloween this year. In fact, we celebrated Halloween for about a week straight. It started out making cupcakes, popcorn balls, and caramel corn at MeMe and PaPa's house. Then it continued with a Halloween carnival at Fun-Care Day-Care with Miss Meaghan and all of AK's little friends. A few days of just eating Halloween candy and treats at home. Next, a trip to Lubbock to trick-or-treat with Emmerson and Evynn and a great venture to the pumpkin patch with the whole gang (Boba, Poppy, Uncle Alan, Aunt D, Em, and Evynn). Last, home just in time on Sunday afternoon/evening to start trick-or-treating in Perryton. WHEW! This makes me tired just typing it out! We had a great time doing all the activities and are anxious to do all next year with an additional bundle of joy, lil Conley!!!

Fall Fun...

Fall has FINALLY arrived (wasn't sure it was ever going to get here) and we have had F-U-N doing a few projects inside and out. Of course, fall means PUMPKINS! This year Adlee has decorated two pumpkins so far and has enjoyed every minute of it. They are looking marvelous in our front yard:-)

Here is a little update on the MOMMY-TO-BE...(scene two)

***First off, NO! I am NOT having twins. I've had that question asked a lot the past month. Sometimes I'm not real sure how to take comments like that...should I "LAUGH or CRY"

***Baby Conley is growing like crazy and seems to be very healthy at my monthly appointments.

***I am now 30 weeks and the COUNTDOWN is on:-)

***The nursery is FINALLY taking shape and I (WE) hope to have it finished very soon. (pics will be posted at a later time)

***Adlee continues to talk about her baby brother and he gets a lot of attention from her. AK enjoys kissing my belly, rubbing my belly, and looking for her brother through my belly-button. I just LOVE her sweet little actions. She will be a GREAT BIG SISTER!!!

We have been very busy with the start of a new school year, Dent's new job as principal, and the other activities going on with our sweet little family. Life is GREAT in the Felix home.

2010 Perryton Celebration

From "TINY DANCERS" to sirens to horses to "FAMILY MEMORIES"...The 2010 Perryton Parade was a huge hit. It was Adlee's first time to be in the parade and ride a float with her dance friends. She was so excited to wear her new dance gear, wave to everyone, and throw candy (although she was not quite old enough to stand on a trailer and throw candy at the same, she still had fun). To be quite honest...It was hard for me to leave her behind on the float and wait patiently for her arrival in the parade, but I made it:-) Her smile was PRICELESS as she saw us from the float and she had a great time with her friends. After we battled the heat...we decided it was time to find some air conditioning and food!!!

Conley Evans...YES! A "BOY" in the family

Yesterday was an exciting day for us...We received news that baby Conley is a BOY. As the tech was doing my sonogram and mentioned a brother, Adlee responded, "Not a sister?" Although Adlee was hoping for a sister (on that day since she went back and forth on what she wanted), she is thrilled to have a brother. We went shopping and Adlee picked out an outfit, blanket, and pacifiers for her baby brother. Dent and I even picked up an outfit with camo...of course, the BOY must have some camo:-)

Once again...I cannot describe how BLESSED I am to be carrying a precious baby boy who will enter the world to an amazing Daddy and sweet sister who LOVE him so very much. December seems like a long ways away, but it will be here before we know it.

Here lately we have been soaking up all the SUMMER FUN we can...

Cheer Camp, Crazy Sandwiches, and Hugs for Mom!!!

We'll start off with Cheer Camp!!! Adlee attended her first Cheer Camp and loved it:-) After the first day, she came home singing, chanting, and dancing. Plus, a few "CRAZY" days were thrown in there such as Crazy Hair Day and, of course, Red and White Day to end the fun camp. On the last day, Adlee was blessed to be able to perform in front of several family members and even received her first flowers. Dent and I were very impressed that she knew the words to each cheer and did a few jumps with the group. We may have a little cheerleader on our hands:-)

Baby Conley has been shown so much LOVE and he/she isn't even here yet. I cannot wait to see Adlee interact with the baby once he/she arrives. Speaking of he/she...we find out what baby Conley will be on Wednesday the 11th. To say we are excited would be an understatement. After church on Sunday Adlee and I decided it was time to take some baby bump pictures. I believe the pictures say the whole story and a big "THANK YOU" goes to Daddy for capturing the sweet moments!

Our little "GROWING" family has been such a great (VERY EXHAUSTING) experience thus far. God has BLESSED me richly with an AMAZING husband, a PRECIOUS little girl, and TINY MIRACLE growing within me. What more could I ask for?!?!

We ventured out for yet another FUN day in the Sizzlin' Sun. MeMe and PaPa treated us to a day at the Woodward Water Park. The day was a little CrAzY to say the least...First, getting six kids rounded up and ready to go was the first step. Then, after some school clothes shopping and some lunch, it was finally time for the water park. Some of the kids weren't sure the time would ever come, Ha! After about an hour of swimming, the weather decided to change and rain began to fall. We waited it out for a bit and then realized it was not going away. So we all received hand stamps so we could come back if the weather allowed. What to do next?!?! We decided Wal-Mart was a good place to go, so off we went. After about an hour of shopping and six toys/treats later...the SUN was SHINING:-) The kids were all excited and we were able to spend another 3 to 4 hours at the park. We left with six exhausted kids, but it was a great day! :-)

Last night Adlee was showing off her swimming skills in the "BATH-TUB". She was blowing bubbles, dunking her head, kicking, and more. YES! The bathroom floor was a wet mess, but her and I were having a great time. AK can be such a "LiL HaM" when you least expect. The timing was perfect as I needed a good laugh and it ended the day in a great way!!!

The end of June and the first of July has been a whirl-wind of F-U-N! We have done a lot of traveling and visiting with family, but things are beginning to slow down a bit until school starts back up for us. Over the 4th of July weekend we ventured to OKC/Norman for some fun and attended the wedding of Crystal and Eric. We started the trip off with a visit to the zoo. It was extremely toasty, but everyone enjoyed the animals, dip-n-dots, and the girls enjoyed getting a new stuffed animal to bring home. Of course choosing only ONE animal was a hard choice, but Adlee ended up with a giraffe. On Saturday, Dent, AK, and I met up with some friends and had a great lunch and visit. Saturday night was the BIG EVENT!!! We attended the wedding of Crystal and Eric in Norman. The wedding was fabulous and we enjoyed getting to see family and friends. Sunday was a busy day with brunch at Chas and John's house and then a trip to the Science museum. The girls enjoyed playing and the adults were happy to be INSIDE where it was cool:-) Sunday night was spend eating out, swimming, and watching fireworks. Monday morning came rolling around and we ate breakfast and headed home. It was an "Action-Packed" weekend for sure!!!

After a few days at home...Dent headed to the mountains on a "MEN'S ONLY" trip and Adlee and I headed to humid/hot Tulsa. What were the GIRLS thinking?!?! LOL. Anyways, we left for Tulsa to visit family and I was able to do some shopping with my aunt and cousin and just relax for a few days. One evening we took Adlee to Chuck E. Cheese for a fun night of entertainment. She loved playing the games and singing with Chucky (and she did stop to eat some pizza and bread-sticks). AK walked away with several token points and was able to get a princess crown, ring, and purple lip-gloss watch. We also took Adlee to splash park and it was just the perfect place for her to play. Like always...the days flew by, but we all had fun.

We've had a great summer TOGETHER!!!

Our little Mommy...

With a baby on the way and questions being asked frequently...to say AK is excited for the new baby to arrive is an understatement. In her eyes the baby is coming any day and she is ready to be a BIG SISTER. This morning she looked at my little (getting BIGGER by the day) belly and said..."What's baby "C" doing Momma?" I responded with my normal answer, "He/She is just sleeping!" and this morning she didn't think that answer was correct. NO! Momma...it's playing in there. Can I see? I lifted up my shirt so she could have access to my belly and she just knew she would be able to see the baby through my belly button (no such luck of course, but it was worth a shot). It was quite funny to say the least. She ended the conversation with a kiss and belly rub. I can only imagine what is going through her mind!!! I have no doubt she will be a great big sister as I see her MOTHER her babies each day...From feeding them to Rocking to Diaper changes. Let's just hope she keeps that up once the baby FINALLY arrives:-) December cannot come fast enough for AK!

Toy Story 3...

Friday night we ventured out to see Toy Story 3 as a family. Adlee has been wanting to watch it since the commercials came out long ago. We ate a quick supper and headed to the movies. Of course, we had to spend about $20.00 on movie treats...push-pop, small popcorn, three cokes, sour patch kids (Dent's pick), and Junior mints for me. Goodness! I think movie treats are little out of control cost-wise, but we MUST have them!!! Right?!?! What's a movie without the yummy treats:-)

Before heading to the "BIG SHOW" I put on my glasses and AK thought it was hilarious since I don't wear them too often. Next, Adlee requested her sunshine glasses so we could all match. Dent and I were wishing our glasses were as "STYLIN" as AK's, but no such luck. It made for a fun family picture and our evening was great.

Today was another GREAT day of gymnastics. Dent and I decided to go and watch he and what fun we had. We were "PROUD" parents as she listened very well and stayed focused on the teacher in charge. She managed to build a house on the wall with her feet, hopped twice and twirled around, jumped backwards, ran an obstacle course, and played crack the egg to learn how to hold her feet together for future jumps. A lot happened in a 45 minute time-frame. Then, the BRAVE little ones climbed the ladder and tooted the horn. YES! Adlee was a BRAVE little girl and completed this activity with great motivation and honor!!! I was snapping pictures and cheering her on as she was being so brave. Way to go Adlee!!! Wednesday cannot get here fast enough to do it all over again!

Before heading out the door, Leeper and Winston was shown some love by sweet AK. She was giving them hugs and said, "Mommy, go get the camera PLEASE!" Of course...pictures were taken:-)

Sweet, Sweet, Summer

The first half of June has been busy, but GREAT! Here are a few updates on our "GROWING FAMILY"

We were able to see baby Connelly the first of June through a sonogram and he/she is very active and growing. Adlee was able to attend the sonogram and she was able to see the baby kick, wave the hands, and hear the heart-beat. She was ecstatic and is STILL talking about Connelly and how he/she was kicking around in Mommy's tummy. We will go to Amarillo in July to find out if Connelly is a girl or boy, another exciting day for us all. Of course, Dent and I were excited to see and hear the baby as well. Babies are such a PRICELESS gift from above.
It seems like AK is growing up way too fast these days. Since baby #2 has been on his/her way, Adlee is deciding she can do several "MORE" things on her own and she is the "BIG SISTER" and she is living it up:-)

Adlee is now taking gymnastics and loving it. Each Wednesday in June she'll go and JUMP, JUMP, JUMP! She is unable to attend during the school year due to it taking place during the day. In July she is going to try out dance and tap. We have bought all the gear, so let's hope she "LIKES" it. If so...she'll begin dance/tap full time during the school year.We are letting her explore her options in the different areas to see what she prefers...Let the FUN really begin!!!

Oh My Goodness...

This past Memorial Day weekend was "ACTION-PACKED"!!! Several family members came in, cook-outs were held, and MEMORIES were made:-)

I would have to say Adlee's best memory would be catching her first fish at Lake Fryer. We were able to go to the lake on Monday. The weather was FISHIN'-PERFECT! HA! The girls loved the boat ride and catching fish. YES! The girls ALL caught a fish or two. Adlee was the first to reel in a fish and she was super-duper excited. Who knew a Barbie fishing pole could be the answer to catching fish?!?! :-) Then, Emmerson and Evynn began catching fish. It was such a precious sight to see. Here are a few photos of AK and her first fishing experience. I see us doing more fishing during the summer months:-)

Wonderland Park Trip

Of course...Wonderland Park is always a huge hit with the little ones (big ones, too). We were able to go early this year and the weather was great. We started our day by eating at Salt-Grass and it was so yummy. Then, we headed to the zoo for animal viewing, and then it was time for Wonderland. This year the younger girls were able to ride a few more rides such as the Frog Hopper. Adlee could had rode that ride all day and her sweet laughs were priceless. She was also able to ride a big ride with her Aunt Deonne and she thought it was awesome. Last, we took a family trip around the park on the ski lift. What an experience...:-) Once we left the park we gobbled down some pizza from Pizza Planet and headed home. The day flew by and everyone was exhausted.

May is LOOOOOONG gone...

Well...I dropped the ball big time and didn't post a thing in May. It wasn't due to the fact that "NOTHING" happened, it was the fact that "EVERYTHING" happened and time slipped away. The end of year school activities consumed our time. Plus being pregnant and extremely tired didn't help matters, but of course, we all survived!!!

Mother's Day was amazing for me...Adlee sent me flowers at school and it was such a sweet surprise. Then during the weekend we just hung out and enjoyed some family time. On Mother's Day, Adlee made me a sweet card in Sunday School with her handprint and colored on it. It's the little things that make being a MOMMY so very special!!! For me and the pregnacy...well, this pregnancy is such a different experience than the first one. I have not felt the best, but the end MIRACLE from above will be worth it.

May was FUN for AK. We took a trip to Wonderland Park with Boba and Poppy and was able to meet Deonne, Alan, and the girls. It was a great day with a lot of activity and pure FUN. And...Adlee took swimming lessons with Uncle Holli and loved every minute of it. I was unable to watch her, but she was in great hands staying at MeMe and PaPa's house for four days.

Dent has been going through the process of getting a new job and it has been a SUCCESS. Earlier in March or April, Dent decided to he would go back to school to get his masters in education to become a principal. After several visits with several people...the process began. College enrollment, applying for jobs, and then interviews, interviews, and more interviews. He found out about two weeks ago that his dream of becoming a principal was going to happen and we jumped into everything with both feet from college classes to sports-coats for interviews to just being WOWED by everything. He has a job within the district but at what school is to be determined. It will be a new life-style for Dent, but he will be amazing in the position of principal. WAY TO GO!!! I love you!

We are proud to announce that Adlee will be a BIG SISTER in December. We are all so very excited about the new addition.The baby already has a name, Connelly. Connelly for either a boy or girl. Adlee has been talking to HIM on the phone lately. I say HIM because she really thinks it's a baby brother. NO! We did not tell her to say that, she came up with that all by herself. Dent and I just want a HEALTHY baby, so we will be happy with whatever the good Lord BLESSES us with. Baby Connelly is due to arrive around December 26th. Could have we picked a busier month? We laugh about that, but once again, we are just BLESSED to have another bundle of joy to add to the family.

Thursday night we had an evening of rain (several inches), hail, and wind. After we listened and watched for several minutes...it was time to go play in the flooded backyard. First, we were greeted by a huge colorful rainbow sent from above. Simply amazing! Next, AK pretended she was a frog and jumped through the puddles. She started out with clothes ON, but soon she was NAKED and the real fun began! We enjoyed watching her play so sweetly in the huge puddle. Oh to be a kid again! FUN, FUN!

We started the day off with a visit from the Easter bunny. AK awoke to find a new pink barbie jeep for her babies, Hello Kitty pj's, and a water bottle. Then, we quickly ate breakfast and began the race to get to Sunday school and church on time. We all got dolled up with AK getting the "BEST DRESSED" award! She looked so cute...even if I say so myself.

'LiL Rette Celebration!!!

Today AK was honored to be Amber's lil' Rette at the softball game. Amber is very special to our family and AK adores her. She has watched Adlee the past two summers as I taught summer school and has babysat her on other occasions as well. AK enjoys spending time with Amber and her brothers, Kolby and Skylar, and they ALL "SPOIL" her rotten when she's around them.

Today was a cold and BREEZY day, but the weather didn't stop us from supporting Amber and the whole softball team. I had AK a shirt made with Amber's number and she was so excited to wear it. At the ballgame Adlee got introduced and walked on the field with Amber as they announced the team, did the opening ceremonies, and was given a signature ball signed by all the players. What a great treat! BUT...what I was most impressed with was the girls as a team. Before the game, they joined hands with the little ones and prayed. It was an awesome sight to see and what a great example for the little ones to follow. They are setting great examples for not only our sweet AK, but everyone watching the game. All I know is...AK was in heaven and we were very honored and proud to have AK given this great opportunity! With that being said..."GO RETTES GO" and "THANK YOU" for being such great leaders for our school and community!

I always knew Belle, Ariel, and Cinderella were amazing actors and great performers...BUT this SPECIAL group of PRINCESSES were over the top. The other night the girls got dressed up and Adlee, Emmerson, and Evynn put on the best little talent show. They sang great songs, shook their booties, and just ROCKED the HOUSE! They each had their own special talent and it was a such a great time for everyone.

a mini TICE Reunion...

The Tice clan had a small party on Monday night with a lot of food, fun, and fellowship. The weather wasn't the best, but it didn't keep us from having a great time and the kids enjoyed playing outside in the drizzle and cold. My grandma had all of her Great-Grandkids together for this special time. Brett, Mel, and their 3 kids (Taylor, Breyer, and Mason) drove in from South Texas, Roger (her son) and his wife, Debbie, brought Paige and Piper to visit. Paige and Piper's parents were unable to make the trip...no spring break in their jobs! :-( Of course my whole family was present for the event and Mom and Dad hosted the meal and fun last night!

It's hard to believe AK is now THREE (3)...where did the past three years go? What a pure JOY she has been to us and what an AMAZING little princess we have. Here is a little update on what is going on in Adlee's little life at the moment!!!

Favorite things:
-Cooking with her Mommy! She is such a big helper, even if the mess is twice as big in the end:-)
-Play-dough! She is into making worms, sandwiches, and other treats.
-Coloring! Anything involving "COLOR" makes her SMILE!
-Independent..."I do it myself, Mommy"...and she does. Here lately she wants to go in public restrooms by herself, but we feel super-vision is still needed. LOL
-Dolls! She is such a sweet Mommy and Doctor to her dolls, stuffed animals, and even "US". Dent and I receive our routine check-ups at no cost and we are greeted with a "SMILE"!
-Singing so SWEETLY...her new songs are "No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed", "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star", "Happy Birthday Song", and "Row, Row, Row your Boat".
-Clothes! She is getting a little 'Strong Willed' when it comes to picking out clothing. She has her idea, but we usually compromise and end up picking out the perfect outfit together and EVERYONE is HAPPY, HA!
-Talking on the phone! She enjoys "CHATTING" on the real phone, play phone, or her imaginary phone. Whatever gets the job done and the people reached!!! It is just too funny:-)
-Television and Movies. We have actually gone to the theater and watched movies! Her favorite cartoons are 'Handy-Manny', 'Mickey Mouse Clubhouse', and 'Dora-the-Explorer'.
-Reading, READING, reading...She enjoys looking through catalogs and picking out new toys, loves to be "READ TO", and ,of course, reading to her baby dolls. We have read a lot of Dora books lately and now she'll ask Dent, "Daddy, what does Boots say" and he'll respond, "Boots thinks your sweet and he loves you very much" or any other phrase that comes to mind. He will continue that until all the characters have said something about her.
-Nature Lover! She loves to be outside wether its playing in the backyard, running to the park, or racing to get the mail. Outside is key to making life FUN!

The girls decorated Valentine cookies with Boba again this year. They each had their own icing and sprinkles and life was GREAT! The cookies were decorated wonderfully and so yummy to eat.

Rockin' Disney Road-Show!!!
We kicked off our Valentine Weekend with a visit from Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Toy Story, Cinderella, and more. The girls and adults enjoyed the Disney show. Of course we had popcorn, snow-cones, and Boba and Poppy bought the girls a new Disney toy. AK's choice was a Mickey Mouse phone, imagine that. She just LOVES talking on the phone, so that was not a shock to us!

Funtimes at HOME...While Dent was gone to Austin on a school trip, AK and I enjoyed our evenings of playing. Winston and Leeper were NOT impressed, but the giggles coming from AK was great.

SNOW-MUCH FUN...

The "SNOW-BUNNY" was finally created this afternoon. It was NOT what I had in mind when I started, but towards the end I decided it needed to be a bunny instead of a bubba for several reasons. One BIG reason due to my hands freezing! My next step was finding something to resemble whiskers and eyes. It was a one stop flight to the pantry to find pretzels and long spaghetti noodles for accessories. Who says it has to be a tradition "SNOWMAN" or "SNOW-BUNNY" for that matter! LOL.

I could not wait for AK to get up from her nap to see it. Once she woke up she was super excited to see it. We made several trips outside to see the bunny. Each trip outside AK would take a spaghetti noodle from the bunny and eat it. We enjoyed watching her and all her SMILES! AND...before bedtime tonight she wanted to tell her goodnight and see you tomorrow. It was so sweet!

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow...that was the forecast for Thursday and Friday morning and we were hit hard with a "WHITE BLANKET" of beautiful snow. School was called off on Thursday, so we enjoyed a relaxing day at home. Friday we began to dig ourselves out. Dent shoveled snow for about 2 and half hours on Friday to free our vehicles from the garage and to get us "OUT OF THE HOUSE". It's amazing how much energy can build up in a day and a half when no-one is able to go outside. Adlee was FULL of ENERGY yesterday! She was way too busy giggling, laughing, and running around the house to take a nap. Finally, we were able to get out and go to Sonic for a coke break. Today, we went to the local stock show and then AK and her Daddy rode 4-wheelers. Fun, Fun, Fun for everyone. As for me...our house *SHOULD* be spotless, all the laundry done, papers graded, and more...BUT, I have enjoyed just being LaZy (is that word in a Momma's vocabulary?) and being with my sweet hubby and little AK.

I am excited to see what this year has in store for us as a family. We are so blessed and I cannot imagine life getting any better than it already is...BUT, God is so GOOD and I know this year will be filled with MeMoRiEs that will last a life-time.

I rang in the New Year without my hubby (he was sick), but I enjoyed getting to visit with old friends at a get together at Balko. We laughed as we talked about High School days and how life has changed for each of us. AK enjoyed a sleep-over at my parent's house along with my some of my nephews and niece. They had a great time popping fireworks (the perks of living in the country), eating, and staying up way past bedtime.

On New Year's Day...Dent came out to the farm and we celebrated by RELAXING all day and eating a great supper of steaks, potatoes, bread, and of course, black-eyed peas. AND...we watched football most of the day while Adlee played beauty shop on Mom and I's hair. It was GrEaT!

Today (Jan. 2, 2010), we woke up to a winter-wonderland of ice outside. It was a beautiful sight to see. Then, our day began by wishing my Mom (MeMe) a Happy Birthday, eating breakfast, and staying in our pajamas most of the morning. After we all finally got up and around we ate Pizza and watched MORE FOOTBALL and RELAXED by the crackling fire.

Christmas was such a BLESSING this year, as always!!! We began our Christmas Celebrations on Wednesday night with Dent's family and continued until Friday ending with my family Christmas. Adlee Kay sure enjoyed all the presents and ripped them open faster than ever with a big smile on her face. We all enjoyed the great fellowship, food, and FUN! AK is already enjoying all of her gifts from the baby dolls to toys to clothes to art supplies. Dent and I were blessed with new things for our house, clothes, and gift cards. We would like to 'THANK' everyone for their gifts and we LOVE each of you!!!

Dear Santa,
"SHOES" are at the top of my list this year. My favorite colors are green, pink, black, brown, red...OR, how about some multi-colored ones, that would be fun. I would also like a new dollhouse, some cute clothes, books, and maybe some new baby dolls.
Also, I have been a very good girl this year. I have became such a big girl and I am very excited about my success in potty-training and getting to wear fun panties. And, I have made several new friends and we have a great time together. Friends are so fun!!!
Last, I will leave cookies and reindeer food for all your helpers. You are the BEST and I want to wish you a very MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Christmas Memories...

What does icing, candy, and gingerbread all have in common? FUNTIMES for the Felix's and the Christmas spirit. On Thursday night, AK created her first gingerbread house and was a masterpiece of color and unique(ness). I say "unique" because I'm not sure how many gingerbread houses have candy corn and whoppers on them?!?! We cleaned out our Halloween candy during this project. Adlee enjoyed every step of the project. She had her candies all in piles and not a one out of place. As she placed the candies upon the house, she did not like the idea of mixing and matching her candies. So, the m&m's, whoppers, skittles, gumballs, etc all had their placed upon the house. Towards the end, she would let me place a candy or two on to cover some areas. After it was complete...she was so proud of herself and kept saying, "OH, Momma!" Dent and I enjoyed every moment of it and I hope to make this a Christmas tradition in our family.

We do have one small problem...Adlee does not understand that the candies cannot be removed and EATEN. After school today, she wanted candies off the house to eat, so I quickly directed her into the pantry for some fruit snacks and goldfish to keep her mind off the "CANDIES". :-)

Sesame Street Live was simply amazing!!! We ALL enjoyed the special event. AK enjoyed her popcorn and Elmo flashlight during the presentation. She sat so attentive on Poppy's lap for most of the show. She clapped, sang, and bowed along with the characters on stage. Our seats were great and we were able to get close-up photos of some of the characters. It was a GREAT show and AK is STILL talking about Elmo and his friends!!!

Happy Halloween

We had a great Halloween this year. Our little AK was Cinderella and she was so cute!!! Actually, WE (the whole family) dressed up this year. Dent and I went as scare-crows and we had a great time. AK received way too much candy and she has been on a sugar-high since Friday night, YIKES!

Our weekend began with some family fun at Boba and Poppy's Halloween morning. This little pose of AK sums up the fun-filled weekend. She just took all the excitement in and LOVED every minute of it!!!

We ventured to Balko Halloween afternoon and visited my side of the family...Our first stop was Uncle Brice and Aunt Holli's house. There we were greeted by a doctor (Hannah), an action figure (Blane) and a fire-figther (Brock). What a great looking "CREW"!!!

Then, we caught up with MeMe and PaPa and got to ride on the 4-wheeler. Who needs a stage-coach when you have a 4-wheeler on the farm to ride? LOL. My parents were so excited to see her and their smiles were PRICELESS!!!

Last, G-ma Tice joined in the fun. She gave US way too much candy and very yummy popcorn balls. We sure do love visiting Grandma!!!

We do have some very EXCITING news...Adlee is now wearing panties and she's doing great. This past weekend I decided the time had come for "POTTY TRAINING" full-force with NO TURNING back. Monday we started off a "little ROCKY" but I kept the FAITH and PATIENCE and continued with the process. Tuesday I dropped off AK at Fun Care-Day Care with big girl panties on and I worried all day about the situation...how many outfits did she go through, did Meaghan go crazy, and more. 3:45 FINALLY rolled around and as I drove up to get AK she was at the door in the same outfit I had dropped her off in that morning. I was one "SUPER-DUPER-EXCITED MOMMY" The babysitter said AK was such a big girl and she had no accidents. For her great success I took her to the store and she picked out GUM for a reward. Each day this week was a "SUCCESS" and AK is now POTTY TRAINED (I know we'll have an accident or two, three, or four, but that's okay)!!! What a blessing that it only took a week to get it down.

Mommy and Daddy are so excited for you AK...Way to go and WE LOVE YOU so much!!!

FaLL FuN...

FALL is in the AIR. This week has been filled with Fall activities such as baking beirox, creating caramel apples, wearing Halloween shirts, and just LIVIN' LIFE to the FULLEST. Adlee has become quite a helper in the kitchen lately. She wants to help me do everything from ingredients to the cleaning at the end. I am LOVING my lil' helper even if she creates a bigger mess for me to clean up (LOL).

Today we created caramel apples. She unwrapped the caramels like a champ!!! She loved the sprinkles and she was very proud of her apples in the end. I made a few apples with choc. chips and pecans. GOODNESS, there should be a law against these things. WOW! So very YUMMY and very HEALTHY, TOO. (Well, the apples are anyways)!!! It was Priceless to watch all her lil' expressions as we completed each step!!! AND...They are so DELICIOUS!!!

Early in the week I made beirox for supper and some to freeze for a later date. Adlee loved playing in the flour and messing with the dough. Once again, another successful day in the kitchen:-)

Coloring really isn't just a FALL thing, but today she was organizing her colors all in a row and named them as she used them. Then, I joined in the fun and we counted on our fingers to ten. She tried so hard to get her fingers to match mine and she is doing great with her counting. Way to go AK, your just TOO SMART!!!

What's NEW with US?!?!

As you clearly see...I have been a little busy the past 2 weeks, so I am writing to update you on the happenings occurring in our family.

First, we are loving our new home and the extra space we now have. I even have a few empty kitchen and bathroom cabinets at the moment and that is such a good feeling. Although, I am sure they will be filled at some point. Since last Friday we have painted 14 gals. of paint in the house and we are not quite finished yet. It's a good thing we like to paint or we would had gone crazy with all the painting:-) We only have two rooms that still need to be painted, so we can see the light at the end. Our next big project will be tiling the kitchen counter-top. We already have the tile so all we need is TIME and that is hard to come by these days!

Secondly...Life has been GREAT for Dent, Adlee, and I this school year. As far as Dent and I's jobs, they are going great and we have a super group of kiddos to teach this year:-) AK is still loving her babysitter and all her old/new friends. They have such a great time together and it makes me so happy to know she is LOVING her days at Meaghan's Fun Care-Day Care!!!
***Please pray for us as we plan to get AK potty trained and OUT of PULL-UPS soon. I really wanted it to be done this summer but just didn't happen. So, now that we are settled in...I really want it to happen. It will with TIME and Patience on Dent and I's part:-)***

House Update...

We NOW have the key to our NEW HOME!!! Through the packing/unpacking of boxes, cleaning, and a CRAZY LIFE...we are making our way to our new home rather quickly. We officially close on both homes this Friday. This week will be BUSY, BUSY with moving everything and being out of our current house on Thursday night. Please say a little prayer that everything continues to go smoothly and that the adjustment of everything will be okay for sweet AK and US. AK is very excited about her new room and she LOVES going to the new house to play:-)

Family FUN...

We have a lil' Ranger Fan on our hands. She just LOVED going to the game and cheering on the Rangers as we played football on Friday night. Before we left for the game, AK was out running in the yard showing off her new "Future Rette" shirt and cheering. At one point she laid in the grassed and said, "Take Pic of ME, Mommy" and I course I snapped and captured her pose. Once Boba arrived, he headed to the game. Through out the game she kept telling the players to "RUN"!!! Of course we also had to venture to the concession stand for popcorn and Dr. Pepper to make the game so much better. Last, as the band played at half-time AK wanted to go play on the field with them. She was such a sweet princess through the first half and the half-time show, but we decided to come home in the 3rd quarter because it was bedtime for ALL of US! It was a great end to our homecoming week and the Rangers WON the game!!!

Homecoming Week...

We had a FUN-FILLED Homecoming week at Williams Intermediate. My block of teachers dressed up each day and I think we enjoyed the week BETTER than the students (lol). As most of you know, I teach 4th grade and LOVE IT and I LOVE my co-TEACHERS just as much. We have a great time together just laughing, crying (YES, some days are better than others), going to Dixie Dog for cokes, and just being FRIENDS that LOVE 2 TEACH!!! We are very blessed to have a buyer. We signed papers this afternoon and are anxious about our closing in less than a month. I am sure it will be crazy, but so much FUN!

Back to School WE go...

This week has been a great week despite my classroom air conditioner being out and my classroom staying about 89 degrees all day. GOODNESS. Anyways, I do have a super sweet group of kiddos and I am thankful for each of them. I am anxious to get to know them even more and get into the meat of WRITING. My principal chose me to teach 2 classes of writing this year. You may say "WRITING"...YUCK, but I LOVE to teach writing and I feel very comfortable and confident in that subject area. SO, I am ONE HAPPY TEACHER for the 2009-2010 school year.

Adlee Kay has also had a great two weeks at her new babysitters house. Miss Meaghan is SUPER SWEET and Adlee LOVES to go play with the other kiddos she keeps. A few of AK's friends were able to go there as well, so it is always a FUN-PARTY during the weekdays. Miss Meaghan is doing all the right things from EDUCATION to FUN-FOOD Days to MOVIE time to GOOD NAP Routines. I am one happy Momma knowing my sweet AK is well taken care of and that she enjoys every minute at her daycare.

AND...some of you may not know, but we have recently put our house on the market. We have a home here in town with our name on it pending selling ours. We have had several families come and look and we feel everything will work for the BEST of all of us. So, keep your fingers crossed as we hear good news and have a buyer. We have a few people very interested so we have HIGH HOPES is selling this home. Our new home is much larger with a two car garage and HUGE backyard. I have been sitting at home each evening thinking of all the things I want to do and what NEW colors I would like to bring in. Just please pray that everything happens and that I don't go CRAZY trying to keep this house "SHOW READY" at ALL times (which is a huge challenge with a 2 year old, but I have a SUPER SWEET hubby that helps me out A LOT).

TIME FLIES...

This evening we headed next door to water flowers and the yard bench caught AK's eye...So I took advantage of yet another photo opportunity. As you can tell by the SMILES on her face, it was very fun.

This evening was just beautiful and I had a BEAUTIFUL daughter to make it all PICTURE PERFECT. There is a mirror on the fence, so picture is actually taken while I looked in the mirror to see Adlee.

Oh so sweet and innocent!!!

"GO RANGERS GO"...Yes, football is right around the corner and AK thought she would start early with her RANGER PRIDE. She noticed her cheerleader suit in the closet and it was a MUST to put on and wear this evening. I had just purchased some new bows for AK, so we did the whole hair thing too. The dress-up session turned out super cute and I am sure we have the BIGGEST LiL' Ranger Fan in town.

This week AK asked so sweetly if she could make cupcakes...WELL, OF COURSE was a my answer we so headed to the store to get all the items and I let Adlee pick out her own sprinkles. Once we arrived at home I was very busy getting everything ready to make cupcakes. But, as we all know...the part of waiting for them to bake and then to cool, is NOT so fun. After a few, well several, "Where's cupcakes?" They were finally all ready for AK's special touch. We made several cupcakes and then shared them the next few days with the new babysitter, Meaghan, and all the other girls. They were a huge hit. This weekend Boba updated her Mary Kay frames with new pics of the girls. This time they were all dressed alike and looking like "PRECIOUS BLUE-EYED MODELS" as usual. AK seemed to enjoy her time and she was caught laughing, crying, and smiling so sweet for pictures. Got to LOVE her sweet emotions when it comes to picture taking. AND those baby blues...they can be breath taking at times!!!

Family Fun at the Water Park

Tuesday and Friday of last week were spent at the new water park in Liberal, Kansas. I had heard great things about it all summer and I finally made time for us to attend. On Tuesday, I met my sister n law Holli up there with here kiddos along with Paige and Wyatt whom I was babysitting for the day. We all had a great time and Adlee loved all the little pools. She was such a fearless dare devil, so she went right to playing. Of course, it helped that all her cousins were there helping her out and showing her how to do all the slides and such. I even braved the deep waters and went down a slide with Hannah.

On Friday, we (Dent got to go this time) ventured to Liberal once again with Deonne, Boba, and the girls. The weather was a little windy and the water was kind of chilly, but it didn't stop AK from having a great time once again.

Who needs some Lip-Gloss? Well, I hope no-one...because NOTHING was left after Adlee's lip-gloss facial took place. I had taken her to the store to pick out something special and she chose a Dora cell phone filled with lip-gloss. Before we arrived at home most of the gloss had already been placed upon her face. Once we got home the remaining gloss was placed and she thought she was so "PRETTY" and her Daddy kept telling her how "PRETTY" she was. Bath time was quickly approaching and after a lot of scrubbing, MOST of the gloss was off, but she did go to bed with a few sparkles remaining on her face. WOW...what a mess!!! At least it was all on her face and not in the carpet, on the walls, and more.

Adlee has been quite the "CREATOR" with her food lately. The other night we brought in Sub-Way for supper and AK decided to transform her cucumber into a master-piece. A "FISHY" master-piece that is. As she was eating she kept saying, "Fishy Mommy, Fishy Daddy" and much to our surprise...YES! Indeed she had created a fish and she was very proud of herself. Gosh, who knew that a Sub-Way kids meal could be so entertaining?!?!? We LOVED it AK.

And of course...A LOT of RANCH was involved in this special creation...LOL

Today we ventured to the lake with my parents to meet up with my oldest brother Brian and his family PLUS several other random people we knew. AK was very excited to go to the lake and she talked about "BOAT, BOAT" all morning while driving. After chattin' a little, we headed to the lake to swim around and hang out with the kiddos (LOTS of THEM). Once again, AK was NOT scared of the water and headed right in and swam around in her bright orange floaties all on her own. She would even venture a little further than expected at times, but she just had the Biggest Ole' SMILE on when she was swimming all on her own. After our little swim we headed back to camp to grill sausage. It was very YUMMY for our TUMMIES. AND...it was then time to ride the "BOAT, BOAT" with Uncle B. Adlee put on her life jacket and then she was ready to ROCK. Uncle B let her sit in the driver's seat and she thought she was big stuff while we floated out. Then, once we were getting on the lake she sat on his lap and just SMILED so BIG as he was driving. Due to the windy weather, the lake was very rough and by the end of the boat ride, AK was ready to get off and so were Dent and I. About mid-afternoon our lake time was over and AK was ready for a nap. All the FUN(times) wore her out. She slept like a Princess all the way home. What a FUN day for ALL of US!

"Oh, My Goodness" is AK's new phrase. This morning while Dent was painting base-boards and I was cleaning out some junk...AK was just playing and then all of sudden she looked at me and said, "OH, MY GOODNESS" (I am sure she was SHOCKED by all the junk I had stored in a cabinet) and it could not had come at a more perfect time. Dent and I both were thinking "WHY" are we working so hard on our anniversary (PLUS it is SUNDAY), but that little phrase reassured us that we were going to be okay and we continued with our jobs. Adlee gives us our daily dose of laughter each day and we just love her sweet words and phrases.

Today our little princess was just being that..."A PRINCESS" She enjoyed her day at home in her big girl panties and earning stickers on her chart, helping her Mommy bake "BOWNIES" without the R, and playing dress up. We are enjoying our final weeks of the summer before school starts again for us.

Last night, AK along with Emme and Evynn got to play in the pool with Poppy. Poppy justed in the girls followed. It was quite a sight of giggling, laughing, swimming, blowing bubbles, flyin' high, and more. I know AK had a great time. Thanks for Poppy for bringing on the "FUNTIMES" in the pool.

More dress-up time. I brought AK several things back from my Houston trip and she had to try them all out. I found some cute hair clippies and AK decided she must wear them ALL. So, that is what she did. I placed them all in her hair and she LOVED it. Super cute and it was so sweet watching her enjoy the littlest things and being so HAPPY with them. I need to take lessons from AK and realize that the "SIMPLE THiNGS" can sometimes (most of the time) be the best things:-)

Dent took these photos while I was gone. To be honest, I was a little worried about AK's hair being a mess because Dent does not like use the tiny little bands used for pony tails. BUT...as you will plainly see...Dent fixed AK's hair the way he wanted and she was so happy. What a sweet daddy to take such pride in fixing AK's hair with her favorite hair clips. Way to go Daddy!!!

AK's first POOL PARTY

Last night we went to our annual, "Oil Patch Golf Tournament" party at the Randall house. This year the pool was up and going and we had a great time in the cool water. AK really enjoyed being in the pool and showing off her swimming skills to all the adults. Dent played water volleyball with the whole crew and AK would be the girl who got the ball if it was hit out of the pool. I enjoyed the pool and talking with the girls and catching up on life and such. After about 2 hours of swimming, it was time to eat some yummy food and homemade ice-cream. Man-o-Man was it great. Adlee was completely worn out, but she LOVED everything. We brought AK back home after our fun party and she stayed with AM-BERRRR (that is how she says it with such an accent) while Dent and I went back to the Randall's for fight night (for the boys) and girl talk for the ladies. It was a fun evening for all and we enjoyed good company. We will be ready for the 2010 Oil Patch Party to come around.

Summer has gone by way to fast for the Felix family, but we have accomplished a lot and have enjoyed spending together doing home improvements projects and watching sweet AK grow up.

Here are a few things AK is doing that we just LOVE...

1.) saying, "NO WAY" (with a cute little accent) when asked questions and such.

2.) Tea, Water, Ice...AK is big into her little kitchen and will ask Dent and I what we want to drink.

3.) Swimming! She loves to play in her pool and she has decided to start doing tricks off the side.

4.) VERY CHATTY...she has been a lil' chatter box lately and talking in complete sentences more. Dent and I enjoy listening to her sweet little voice.

5.) BUGS..."YIKES" Ak is NOT impressed with bugs of any kind. She says, "GO-Way" when she sees one.

6.) Rocking!!! She is allowing us to rock her some evenings before bedtime (which we LOVE) and she's into rocking everything from babies, to frogs, to play food from her kitchen.

Here she is waiting patiently for her Boba to arrive the other night. AK was all geared up for her overnight stay with Boba and Poppy and she wanted to use her backpack to place her clothes in. Then, she put the backpack on and just waited so sweet on the front porch.

After our stay at my Aunt Karens, we headed to Sapulpa, OK to see my Uncle Roger and Aunt Debbie. They have a beautiful country-like home and an amazing yard. Roger and Debbie are quite the entertainers as well. The first morning, we all had a great breakfast and Roger made AK three little pancakes, just her size, and she thought she was pretty UP-TOWN. We had some very YUMMY breakfast's while visiting the Tice's.

Here are AK's sweet little pancakes...TOO CUTE!One evening, we went the Tulsa Riverwalk and walked around. AK decided to pose so sweetly next to the fountains that come out of the ground. Dent and I just LOVE this photo!!!

Here is AK with her sweet little red cheeks glowing...it was still very hot at 8:00 in the evening.NOW...the funtimes were about to begin. AK wasn't sure if she wanted to go in the water, but after this SWEET, SWEET smile, she decided to give it a try and rest is history. As she began to play, she striped off her shirt and then the bow. We walked away with drooping bottoms and a huge diaper that was about to explode. For the car ride home, we had a dry diaper and a naked girl in the back seat. Oh...got to love the water!!!

(I know her little smile is kind of difficult to see, but it was just so CUTE!!!)

Now, for the beautiful view of the Tice yard. They have the most beautiful waterfall with flowers surrounding it. Roger and Debbie has made it grandkid friendly, so AK and her PaPa decided to try it out. Once again, it was more WATER fun for our little fish. Here is another view of the waterfall. In the evenings we would set on the backporch and listen the water run as we chatted and relaxed. Also, they have several lightning bugs that fly at night and frogs that croak. It was a great place to just hang out and RELAX!

We had great time on our 6 day vacation visiting, eating, and just hanging out...BUT, it is always nice to come back to our HOME SWEET HOME in Perryton.

Lions, Tigers, and Bears...OH MY!!!

We headed to the Tulsa Zoo on Monday morning with my parents. All AK would talk about were MoNkEyS, so that was the TOP reason for going to the zoo, so as we entered through the front gates we pinpointed the monkey exhibit first. On our way to the monkeys we saw several other animals and Adlee LOVED all of them. She would say their names and their sound (if she knew it). As we walked by the turtle, she fell in love in. I am sure you read my blog about the turtle in our backyard earlier this summer...SO, the story continues. "Turtle Home" was still on her mind and she enjoyed seeing the large turtle. Then, we were on to see the elephants, bears, tigers, snakes, fishes, and more. About mid way through the zoo, we got on the choo, choo train and made a lap around the zoo. To end our fun zoo trip, AK and I rode a camel. It was a first time for both of us. It was quite a BUMPY ride, but we had a BLAST doing it. AK was so brave and she wanted to ride it several more times, but at $5.00 a person, Papa's money ran out after the first ride (LOL). Last, we took AK to the gift and guess what she chose as her zoo gift?!?!?! Well, a blue MONKEY, tiny little FROGS, and a large sucker. WOW, what a FUN-FILLED day at the zoo!!!

Our lil' Sparkler...

Green, Blue, Red, Purple, White, and more were the HIGHLIGHTED colors of our 4th of July celebration weekend. We headed to the Tulsa area on Thursday afternoon to spend a few days with my Aunt Karen and her family. We painted, tiled, and did a little shopping during our short stay. After working all day Friday and half day on Saturday...it was PARTY time for Saturday night. After a yummy meal of Mexican food, we headed to the house to start our 4th of July fun. I wasn't sure if AK would like all the noise and such, but we started her off slowly and did the quite fireworks (Pop-Pops, Smoke bombs, and Black Snakes). Then, we ventured into the sparklers and OH WHAT FUN they were...Adlee enjoyed spelling her name using the sparkler stick and more. Adlee wasn't able to watch the BIG, LOUD, BRIGHT fireworks due to sleep, but she had a great time doing her own and hanging with the big kids.

AK and her sparkler...She kept saying, "A, D, L" over and over again. We have been working on spelling her name and she has half of it down.

After an afternoon of playing in the water and sand at MeMe and PaPa's, it was time for a relaxing bath before heading to Hannah's birthday party. Adlee and Kelby started off in the tub and later was joined by Brock. Even though three cuties were in the tub...AK and Brock found a way to swim around just like they learned in swimming lessons earlier today.

This week AK is starting swimming lessons for the second summer in a row. Last year we took Mommy and Me lessons, but this year she is in the water without her Mommy. A sign she is growing up WAY TOO FAST! AK just LOVES to swim in her little pool at home, so I knew she would enjoy the big pool. With help from her Aunt Holli, the instructor, she did the FROG, went under several times, kicked her legs very well, and even went off the diving board. I was one very proud Mommy as she kept up with the older boys and girls in the pool.

Okay...the next photo of Ak is not the best, but there is a story behind it. AK, as we all know has "NO FEAR" when it comes to a few things...and this was one of them. After a time of going off the board with help, she wanted to do it on her own the next time. So, as I was standing close by trying to snap a picture AK walked to the end of the board with Maggie and as she was getting ready to jump...She slipped and went tumbling into the water HEAD FIRST. I would have to say my heart skipped a beat (OR TWO), but she was safe and sound as Holli rescued her. YES! It did scare her a little bit and she just wanted to watch for a few minutes after that. BUT, as she continued to watch the bigger kiddos jump, she tried it again, and again, and again (She even cried as we left because of not being able to JUMP any more). I was so proud of her for not being scared of the board after her little fall. It was a very successful lesson. What a little FISHY we have on our hands.

CuPcAkE CuTiE...

I did squeeze in some time to make cupcakes with AK this afternoon. She has been asking about those cupcakes for a week now...and the time finally came for us to make them together. Since this my last week of summer school I thought I would take cupcakes to my kiddos for all their hardwork during the past three weeks of school. Plus...we need some sugar at the Felix house, too:-) As you will notice, AK did not skip a beat doing all the things her mommy does as she is baking brownies, cupcakes, etc. Lil' AK even wanted to wear my little apron during the CUPCAKE hour.

from MESSY to MAGNIFICANT...

Well...the Felix house is beginning to look live(able) again:-) After 4 full days of tiling, the project is complete and we could not be happier. My parents, Dent, and myself have put in TRIPLE time the past 4 days to get the job completed.

We started off in my hallway and dining room. It went very smoothly and Dent and I learned a lot. So, my dad let us have rein over the dining room as he worked on the entry way design. Dent and I got a "THUMBS UP" from my parents in the dining room, so we ventured into the kitchen to lay the design I had chosen. At last the job was complete and WE (Dent and I) were so proud of ourselves:-) Next it was time to begin on the entry way...What a CHALLENGE!!! My Dad (the CREATIVE one) decided my entry way needed to stand out and be one of kind, so that is what happened. It took my dad a whole day just to cut tile to place in my entry and once it was all cut we tackled the challenge ahead of us ONE TILE AT A TIME. YES, it was very time consuming, sweaty, and stressful at times...the finished product in all the different rooms was amazing.

Here is my kitchen. I choose to do a different tile in my kitchen to break up the large dining room and kitchen area. I LOVE the dark time with the light tiles.

This my hallway. The photo does not show all the different colors in the tile. It will be a very kid and adult friendly tile that will HIDE some of the dirt and other stuff that gets dropped on my floors. My dining room is the same pattern and tile as my hallway.

AND...for the my GRAND ENTRY way...HERE is the finished product. I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. It is very eye catching and ONE-of-a-KIND. My dad worked his MAGIC on this project:-)

As for the other home improvements...Carpet for all the bedrooms is on its way, doors are painted with new hardware for all the bedrooms and closets, and...We are trying to decide which project to do next...new kitchen cabinet doors or new vanities and tile in both bathrooms. BUT, I am sure we will be taking a break from all of this to clear our heads and make the BEST decision for the next project:-)

Turtle...HoMe?!?!

Here is an update on the turtle we found the other night. As we were playing outside (which is most of the afternoon and evening) our dog, Leeper, was going crazy by the fence. Adlee was worried about sister, so she ventured out to see for herself "WHY" she was barking. Pretty soon we heard, "turtle home, Mommy...turtle home, Daddy!" Dent and I thought to ourselves "REALLY" is that turtle back?!?! After a few more phrases of "turtle home" we ventured by the fence and OH MY...There was the turtle by the fence trying to get in our backyard. Adlee was so EXCITED to see the turtle and after we watched it for about 10 minutes, we decided the turtle needed to go to the country or to a farm. As soon as we talked about it, our neighbors backed out of the alley and volunteered to take the turtle out of town to the country for us. We know the turtle will have a great time in the country with his/her friends, but we will MISS you sweet turtle!!!
