a "4-WHEELIN" good time...

Dent and I took a personal day on Friday and headed off to a fun-filled camping and 4-wheeling trip to Lake Mackenzie with some friends. We headed to Borger around noon on Friday and met up with Tye, Kelly, and Katelyn. After a few errands were ran, we began on our journey to the lake. Traveling was great UNTIL Tye had a blow-out on his camper, while going down a steep hill in the canyon, so there was no-way he could stop. After trying to get his attention flashing our lights, TRYING to use our cell phones (which had no signal), we FINALLY arrived at the top of the canyon and then was able to call Tye and get the tire changed. Pretty scary and we were thankful nothing else happened. Once we arrived at camp, we set up and went on a little ride. We saw several deer and a porcupine, which Katelyn thought was pretty cool. Later that night, we cooked out burgers and had a relaxing evening together.

Saturday we woke up and cooked a yummy breakfast of eggs, potatoes, sausage, and cheese wrapped in a tortilla. It was very YUMMY! During the day we rode on trails, ate too much junk food, watched a few movies (the girls anyways), and grilled T-bone steaks for supper. As we were grilling the steaks, I was able to capture a beautiful sunset. It was the perfect ending to our great day. After the sunset, it was time for our $15.00 smores'. YES, we forgot to buy the items at United, so I purchased the items at the Lake store and they charged an arm and leg for everything. Oh well! They were worth every delicious bite:)

This morning, we woke up, ate breakfast, packed up, and headed back home. We didn't ride this morning due to the cold weather and crazy wind. The journey home was very successful!!!

It was great for Dent and I to get away for a few days and relax!!! Although we had a great time, we are so glad to be at home with our sweet little punkin, AK!

Dent and I before we began 4-wheeling.
Kelly and I were not sure if we had to wear helmets since we were driving a Ranger, but as we left camp and arrived at this sign...our question was clearly answered. SO, on went our helmets:)
The hubby and I with our helmets ON...

Dent and Tye ready to ROCK!!!Kelly, Katelyn, and I...this was BEFORE we reached the rules sign shown above:)
One of the trails we ventured on...

Well...there is a story behind this photo. You will notice that I am pointing to a sticker that was placed on my helmet. WELL, you don't stickers just for riding!!! As I was riding Dent's 4-wheeler and following him along a trail, I laid the 4-wheeler on its side and bailed off so I would not get trapped under the machine which I was riding. Pretty scary, but I landed safely in the sand and came away with zero marks and no blood. Dent helped me get the 4-wheeler back to its CORRECT position and we were off to ride more trails. Thank goodness for the soft sand and crazy looking helmet that aided in my safe landing. YES! I am very proud of my sticker of survival for the weekend. AND...I must say that I was the ONLY one to receive a sticker the whole weekend:)
The beautiful sunset that ended our great day!!!
Of course, the smores' were a great treat!!!

I'm so glad you all had a fun time 4 wheelin' with the Haney's!

Poppy and I had a wonderful time keeping Adlee for the weekend. She kept us entertained with all of the cute little things she says and does. We just delighted in getting to soak all of that up!!!
We also loved getting all of her big hugs and sweet kisses.
Love,
Deb
